Before

 (Pre-care)

Think of this as setting your skin up for a clean, less painful wax:

1. Let hair grow to the right length
About ¼ inch (roughly the length of a grain of rice) is ideal. Too short and the wax won’t grip; too long and it can hurt more.

2. Gently exfoliate (24–48 hours before)
Use a mild scrub or exfoliating glove to remove dead skin. This helps prevent ingrown hairs later—but don’t exfoliate right before your appointment, as it can make skin sensitive.

3. Keep skin clean and product-free
On the day of waxing, avoid lotions, oils, deodorant, or makeup on the area.

4. Avoid sun exposure and heat
Stay out of tanning beds or intense sun for at least 24 hours before. Irritated or sunburned skin should never be waxed.

After

(Aftercare)

This is just as important to avoid irritation, bumps, and ingrowns:

1. Soothe the skin immediately
Use aloe vera gel or a calming lotion. The skin may be red or slightly bumpy—that’s normal for a few hours.

2. Avoid heat and friction (24–48 hours)
Skip hot showers, saunas, gyms, and tight clothing. Heat + sweat can irritate freshly waxed skin.

3. Don’t touch or pick the area
This reduces the risk of infection and irritation.

4. Stay out of the sun
Freshly waxed skin is more sensitive to UV rays, so avoid sun exposure or use SPF.

5. Skip exfoliation for a couple of days
After 2–3 days, resume gentle exfoliation to help prevent ingrown hairs.

6. Wear loose, breathable clothing
Especially for areas like bikini or legs to reduce friction.
